concrete jungle

"In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there's nothing you can't do." -Empire State of Mind - JayZ & Alicia Keyes

day 1: The weather was absolutely fabulous! Hotel right in the middle of Times Square... a bit hectic, but I love being in the middle of it all! Dinner at this itty bitty trendy little Italian restaurant called Etcetera. Super yummy!

day 2: Walked around downtown/Wall Street. Took the ferry ride to Liberty Island and Ellis Island... more beautiful weather, more lovely people. Maybe I'm used to being courteous, but a lot of people were oh so rude! We encountered this 50 people group from Wisconsin that thought they were entitled to everything, just because they were a big group (which included cutting us in a line we'd been waiting in for awhile). Let's just say things got a bit confrontational. After enjoying the beautiful weather and ferry rides, we walked down to So-Ho, peeked in some cute shops, and had cupcakes at Buttercup Bakery (see "Cupcake Diaries")
day 3: Subway ride to Columbia University, and enjoyed yet another sunny, beautiful day! Had an AMAZING lunch at 5 Napkin Burger in the Upper West Side. Mmmm. Walked through Central Park where others were enjoying the sun just as much as I was! Explored the Met for hours. I wish I could just stay there forever! Like Claudia in the book, "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" - one of my favorites.

day 4: Easter Sunday mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral... it was quite beautiful! Saw Jersey Boys on Broadway! Let's just say I'm obsessed. Probably one of my favorite Broadway musicals, and I've seen quite a few. Cupcakes at Crumbs Bakery. Dinner at a yummy restaurant in the Time Warner center that overlooked Midtown. What a nice Easter Sunday!
day 5: Visited the school I will be attending next year, Fordham University! Train to Washington D.C... I concluded my New York trip with 2 days spent in D.C. where the heat was almost unbearable! 88 degrees!!!

All in all it was a lovely and fun trip!! Quite a beautiful way to spend my spring vacation. And visiting Fordham made me 45708372525 times more excited to go there in the fall!

you and I buy starmaps and drive around los angeles

I'm exhausted! Why? I'm not sure, considering I have had essentially no school work all week, or anything else for that matter. I guess I'm just tired of being bored? Possibly? Ah well. This weekend should be fun! Saturday I am spending the day/evening with my whole family, and we will be going out to dinner for Chinese New Year! I'm not to keen on the authentic, real Chinese food, but I love being with my family! Sunday I leave for my week on the East Coast... New York first, then Philly, and I end at Boston. My dad called to get tickets to the David Letterman show, but I think I'd rather see a Broadway Musical. Any favorite musicals out? Hmmm. Life has been going fabulously. Below are a couple of snapshots of what I've been doing with my art lately. Fun stuff! I completed two paintings in class within the past couple of months as well, so I should be able to post pictures by the end of the month!

a little piece I did for my friends birthday.

just a snapshot of my dresser-top. I thought something looked oddly eccentric about it so I snapped a pic!

oh december.

Ah! December is absolute craziness, thus far. Everyone's getting sick, so I'm avoiding sickness at all costs. I've been so busy the past few weeks, hence I haven't been blogging as often, sadface. I have finals next week, so that probably means even less blogging too! the travesty! Funny though, I'm not stressing out, or nervous about finals, at all... I'm almost waiting for my hysteria to kick in. Whatever. In the next couple of weeks I'll be hearing from a bunch of colleges I've applied to, so I shouldn't be anxious at all, right? Ha. One thing I can't complain about is the weather. I'm pretty sure it's the coldest it's ever been over here, but I love it... it's an excuse for cute coats, jackets, hats, and boots! I love the cold weather... That's why I can't wait to hear from my east coast colleges in the next few weeks... it's where I belong! Today it started raining, which makes this whole weather situation basically 10times better! I love the rain! AND, news reports have said that snow is very possible in the next week. Snow?! In the SanFrancisco/BayArea?! yes! I love december... except the finals part. And another thing I can't complain about? The male faculty member, under the age of 30, at my all girls high school. He's essentially walked into a lions den of hungry girls, and has yet to notice. Let's just say I have an affinity towards older men. ;] oh boy. Ah! I'm feeling really good right now, it's probably the rain... is that weird? Oh well, my ridiculously hyper mood will probably wear off in a couple of days, after all, being bipolar does that to you. Hope you're all enjoying DECEMBER!

15 days till LADY GAGA!
